For the past week at work, many of my coworkers have been wishing people a Happy Mothers Day. I refuse to. Not because of being bitter for not having a mother myself, but because you never know a strangers situation. Someone may have had an abusive mother, or may have had a miscarriage or stillbirth. I will wish a Happy Mothers Day to my Gram. But I would never wish it to a stranger at work. Maybe I am more sensitive to the topic then other people are, but either way, people should think about how what they say could cause negative feelings.
